PACK HOLD CARRY
PACK HOLD CARRY
THE STORY BEHIND THE All-American Backpack NET.
Pennsylvania‑born. Hand‑crafted. Hands‑free since 2020.
Born from Necessity
My story starts long before I ever sat down to weave a single knot. Long before I knew I’d become the guy who envisioned a backpack net. It began with a simple, universal frustration: not enough space when you need it most.
The Early Seeds
As a teenager, I’d ride my bike to the basketball court with my ball wedged into the frame. I know I’m not the only one who did that. One day the ball slipped out, rolled down a hill, and I had to backtrack to get it. I didn’t know it then, but that moment planted a seed.
In college, the problem grew. Riding my bike with groceries meant multiple trips over multiple days because my backpack couldn’t hold everything. I didn’t think of it as a product idea at the time — just another limitation I had to work around.
The Breaking Point
Fast forward to around 2010, during my over‑the‑road trucking career. That’s when the frustration became impossible to ignore. I’d be standing in line at truck stops with my hands full — coffee, phone, jacket, toiletry bag, laundry bag — juggling everything while trying not to spill something. I remember hunching over to grab a bag I set down and spilling coffee on my jacket.
I kept thinking:
There has to be a better way.
I wanted to pick up ONE pack, not multiple bags and loose items slowing me down.
Then came the moment that pushed me over the edge. I had to switch trucks for repairs and grabbed my backpack, tool bag, lunch box, folders, and trip sheet. Later, I realized I’d forgotten my Bluetooth headset. When I went back to get it, it was gone. That mistake cost me time and money — and it made something click.
I needed a better system.
A way to consolidate everything I carried.
A way to stay hands‑free.
A way to move from point A to point B without fumbling or forgetting.
The AHA Moment
The spark came during a movie night with my wife. There was a war scene where soldiers had nets wrapped around their helmets to hold small essentials. Simple. Clever. Accessible.
That’s when it hit me:
A net around a backpack could do the same thing.
Later, I came across old photos from Ellis Island. Immigrants had nets wrapped around crates and luggage strapped to their backs — the earliest version of a backpack. That image stuck with me. People have always needed to carry more out of necessity, and to stay hands‑free while doing it.
That’s when my mission became clear:
PACK • HOLD • CARRY
The Artist‑Maker Journey
As an artist, two lessons have always guided me:
Be inquisitive. And whatever you want to create becomes easier the moment you begin.
So I began.
I experimented with nets of every shape, size, and material. Then came the rigging systems — how would it attach to a backpack and still stay easy to use? I’ll admit, some of the contraptions I came up with were ridiculous. But that’s part of the process.
I tied knots. Untied knots. Wove nets. Re‑wove nets. Added things. Removed things. Refined. Simplified. Started over. Tried again.
Eventually, after years of trial and error, I created a durable, well‑crafted product that works beautifully — and more importantly, it’s simple.
The Solution
I built an external paracord backpack net that wraps around your backpack to create an adjustable pocket on the outside. It cinches down to keep items tight against your pack, reducing sway for comfort and safety. It gives you the extra space you need — from “just a little more” to “a lot more” — while keeping your hands free.
It’s not just a tool.
It’s a companion for your backpack.
It comes along for the walk, the ride, the commute, the grind.
Easy to use.
Easy to adjust.
Easy to rely on.
Your backpack is already set up for it — this just helps your pack work harder for you.

The paracord backpack net is durable, strong, UV-resistant, and rot-resistant. It works great with other smaller bags or packing cubes, placed in the net pocket outside your pack, leaving more room inside for key items that must be protected, sheltered, and readily accessible. So, whether on foot, by bike, on a skateboard, on a snowmobile, on a Segway, or on a spaceship, you name it, got backpack? Will travel hands-free, and thanks for bringing me along.
